The main difference between Unfinished & Prefinished Solid wood Flooring is that with Solid Unfinished Wood Flooring, the boards are square cut and knock up tight to each other. Unfinished Flooring is sanded and finished on site after installation. Prefinished Solid Flooring comes with a Micro Beveled edge and is finished in a controlled environment. Solid Wood Flooring is designed to be installed at or above grade. Prefinished flooring is a Plus for people that suffer from allergies, as you do not have to deal with the dust and smell from the sanding and finishing. Engineered Flooring is designed to be installed at, above or below Grade. Engineered Flooring is designed to be installed over Radiant Heat. A good quality Engineered Floor can be Floated, Glued or Stapled. Engineered flooring is available with or without the Micro Beveled edge depending on which product line you purchase.
