In early 2025, David Jr. purchased the company from his father, ensuring our legacy lives on for another generation. "Growing up, my Dad taught me the importance of putting others before yourself and making sure you give 100% effort no matter what. Because of all my Dad's high standards running Blue Ribbon, our reputation has always remained a staple of our daily operations. It is now my privilege to carry on what he started and make sure this company continues its high standard in our community for many more years to come." - David P. Smith Jr.

Blue Ribbon Flooring Co, Inc was founded in 1989 by David Smith. Before starting the company, David worked for his father, Merle B. Smith, at his wholesale flooring distribution company in Burr Ridge, Illinois. During his time there, David excelled in learning the business and later applied his experience when he moved to Wisconsin and founded Blue Ribbon Flooring.

Once settled in Wisconsin, David continued to grow Blue Ribbon Flooring. Our Vice-President, Ryan Kingley, was hired in 2000 and started out in our delivery department. Throughout the years, Ryan has moved up within the company and now serves as our vice president and runs all operations in the office.

David's son, David Jr., came back to work for the company in early 2023. David Jr. had previously worked for the company throughout his time in high school and college and now serves as our general sales manager and delivery specialist, ensuring each delivery is executed with efficiency and professionalism.
